Alex Smith, who also writes under his full name Alexander Gordon Smith, has been creating stories since childhood, starting with his first book at age six. He spent much of his twenties and thirties writing horror fiction for children and teenagers, including the award-winning Escape From Furnace series. After becoming a father to three daughters, he shifted to crime fiction and created the DCI Robbie Kett thrillers, featuring a detective balancing investigations with family life. Smith lives in Norwich with his family, dividing his time between writing and raising his three girls.
